Most of the time when someone decides to purchase a product, they don’t purchase the product because of the actual product, but because of the person that was selling them the product.
This is type of mindset that you should have going into or starting any type of business. You have to dig deep into the mindset of a person when they decide to make a buying decision.
A great example of this is Oprah. Everything that Oprah recommends or attaches her name to, people simply go out and purchase that product based on her
Oprah Winfrey
recommendations alone. You can have this same type of effect on others if you just get into the mindset of helping others out first, before helping yourself. I continue to state this because it is very important to the success that you have in any business or in life in this case.
I try to go out of my way most of the time to help people out even if it does not benefit me because I solely believe that the more people that I help out, the greater success that I will achieve. I usually go above and beyond what I should and this sometimes gets me into trouble, but I will continue to do it anyway because this is what I believe in from my heart.
Another thing that I try to do on a daily basis is build relationships with people first before trying to get them to join a particular opportunity that I am involved with.
So many people try to sell a person first before identifying their situation and if they actually need the product or service. This is a common mistake that most marketers make and it can cost them their whole business or reputation.
I try to learn about their life story and goals and then I try to recommend what I feel would be benefit them the most in their current situation. This a huge part of relationship marketing that you definitely need to understand.
These are just a couple of the reasons why I feel that people buy from people and people join from people. Once you grasp this concept, you will begin to see more profit or gain more business from the relationships that you build.

I purchase more items that have been endorsed by Martha Stewart then I do from Oprah, but that is neither here nor there.
A marketer definitely needs to know what their audience’s needs and wants are and pitch it.

Hey Donny, great post. This is definitely one of those “blue in the face” topics. No matter how many times or how many ways it is expressed, far too many marketers just don’t get it.

Hi Donny,
The adage that people buy from those they “know, like and trust” is at the heart of this philosophy. This is also what differentiates individuals who sell the exact same product, but one seller takes the time to actually get to know you first.
It only takes getting to know someone just a little more than the next guy to often make the difference in a persons decision making regarding who to buy from or join in an opportunity. It really is all about relationship building and putting others first.

Hi Donny! What a great blog you have. You are right, and this is one of the most important points to succeed in the MLM and online marketing. Once you get it you’ll will be able to grow your tribe and things will start to happen for you. Unfortunately lots of people still not getting it and keep spamming all over the internet.
Keep on with the great job
Patricia
