How to Increase the Page Rank of your Blog Really FAST

by Donny on January 5, 2010

There are several ways to go about link development in terms of long-term plans, but assuming that you want to increase the Page Rank of your blog within a number of weeks, then this is exactly what you should be doing:

1. Write one article a day about your niche and submit it to EzineArticles. It should be around 400 words and have decent content. In the resource box, link the article to your blog. Afterward, re-write the post on your blog and then your blog will have another useful post.

Don’t worry if you feel that the content is not good enough to attract much traffic to your site. These articles are not being written for traffic – they are there simply for the backlinks.

Write articles that focus on your blog’s keywords and as long as they are accepted then they will be providing benefit for you. It’s nice to get traffic from them, but as long as you write a somewhat decent article, it will be accepted. Your goal here is the backlink and you’ll get it.

Time: 30 minutes an article

2. Blog Commenting: Use a DoFollow blog search engine and find 5 relevant blogs in your niche per day. Write comments that will be approved by the blogger in order to guarantee that you’ll have the backlink.

In other words, each comment should be 100+ words with content – not just “nice post.” Make it clear that you read his post. Comment on 5 new blogs each day in order to have backlinks from as many different domains as possible.

Again, if you want traffic then the comments will need to be of a higher caliber. Attracting readers from his blog to your blog will only work if your comments are insightful. But if all you want to do right now is increase page rank, then just make sure that your comment is accepted.

Time: 30 minutes (5 comments)

These 2 tasks will literally take about an hour a day to complete. Assuming that you start out with a page rank 0 blog and do this for 3-4 weeks, you should be PR 2 and maybe PR# by the end of it.

Often bloggers think that the best way to improve a new blog is by paying for paid links on the blogs of successful bloggers. In reality, this does next to nothing since Google knows that they are paid links and they are hardly factored at all into a site’s page rank.

Increasing your page rank

Increasing your page rank

The real methods involved in building links with content relevant sites. It’s not hard, but it takes time. If all you want to do is build page rank fast, stick to this and ignore paid link, directories, forums, and social bookmarking – just not worth your time.

Donny,
This is an excellent post my friend. Using a slightly modified version of the article marketing strategy that you have outlined in the past two months I have added an additional 1,700 links to my blog and taking it from a PR 0 to a PR2.

With the new strategy that I am going to put into place shortly these results should be exponentially applied.

Keep up the great work D!

John

Hi Donny, Great post. The only disagreement that I would have with it is regarding quality. If you are going to write an article make it a quality article. 400 words is fine, but be sure to read it through, correct punctuation, spelling and grammar errors. Make sure all the sentences “read correctly” and don’t sound jumbled. By taking an extra 60 seconds on your article, you now make it attractive for others to possibly use for content on their own site. Those are additional Back Links that Google is going to find as well. On top of that you promote yourself as a professional writer. IMHO.

Hi Donny,
Backlinks are one area that I know I could use some better information. I really
don’t do enough SEO strategies to get my blog ranked, and I appreciate the
tips you just gave. The one about leaving comments is great because you can absolutely tell when someone hasn’t read the post. Great post!

Donny,

Great post on increasing your page rank! Just a few simple things that take a few simple minutes is all you need to do. The problem with most people I believe is the commitment that it takes to be diligent with this process. You can create substantial progress with you page ranking if you just put the time in!

Thanks for this great post!

I like the post for its clear directions to get your page rank higher. You mention two simple things that anybody should be able to do, and that’s a lot more that diluted content on many other blogs these days.

Useful content=loyal followers.

Thanks for the great ideas. I had not thought about EzineArticles to get back links back to my blog. I had heard something about the Do Not Follow list and how it might help, but this has explained it better and why I need to do this. Thanks so much for the great insight.

Thanks Donny for the SEO tips :-)

I know article marketing is one of the easiest forms of promotion to do but most people NEVER do it because it needs consistency. As you said, an article a day…

Routines are very important for people to establish. For most people who have full time jobs, pick ONE or TWO Reach out Methods and stick to them. Master them and move on to the next.

If your ROM is working, then continue to do it every day, ideally at the same time if possible and using the same routine.

My life is set around routines. I know what I’m doing and when I’m doing it. Yes, for some people it may get boring, but for me, I know I can almost predict the results because I always do the same things…

People who JUMP from one thing to another will struggle because they never know what they are doing and WASTE a lot of time doing it…

Just a few ideas,

Thanks

Some good points Donny. I built my first consulting business a few years ago using no advertising other than two blogs that pointed to the site. I have to admit it became a real chore for a while – particularly after the novelty wore off and I was struggling to find things to say. But you're right – don't spend too long writing, keep your posts brief and even stretch them out over a couple of days. If its worth reading, people will wait!
Also, apart from EzineArticles, which is probably the most widely known, there are plenty of other article directories such as; EasyArticles, GoArticles, ArticleCube. If you're writing content for one – it only takes a few minutes to submit the article to several directories, which potentially multiplies the effect.

Nice article Donny,
I'm still going to use social booking marking as I don't believe you've proven your point that it doesn't work. To me those sites can provide some great backlinks.
I will however use you theory of creating articles and post it on content sites, this has been proven to provide traffic, however it can be time consuming.
So thanks for your confirmation.
I'll be following you on Twitter, so feel free to visit my FB Fanpage http://tinyurl.com/yep8×4d

Hi.I am relatively new to blogging since January 2010 and I should say this is the best info I have come across for all that time. The simplicity of the steps to follow to achieve some level of success in getting a higher page rank is worth a try.Allow me to mention that submitting links to directories helped my blog get indexed fast though they don't help much in getting backlinks or traffic.

Good post! I'm already doing the second one, although not as long as you recommend, but it is getting me traffic and that's what I'm looking for, it does work. And thank you for the other tip as well.

All the best,

Hi, referencing site pages means testing, but this strategy, unfortunately, attracts the spammers so most blog owners don’t allow it.

Hi Donny
Thanks for the article, its always a great help when trying to get your website noticed. I have been trying to get my photography site noticed, which is slowly taking shape, but would like the results a bit quicker(as does everyone else I’m sure). I have started a new site again(sucker for punishment) and trying to get those valuable PR points growing on my site.
Thanks again.

Thanks for your thoughts – and an alternative voice amidst all the automatized link-building-software-aficionados. Content pays off – take a bit longer to write something that makes sense – but invites people to come back and look for more. Despite, I actually enjoy writing articles for what they are about – not just the link juice… :-)

Hi Donny,

This is abolutely great. Its is the missing piece of puzzle.
I’m new on this industry, I have started just a couple of months ago. I really wanted to know how to increase blog ranking and this linking issue.
I have been searching for the information from different websites in vain till when I met you on twitter and got Blog Roadmap from you and then followed you on your blog.
Here I’m getting the missing piece of puzzle. I’m going to write an article daily and post comments to 5 blogs of my niche. I will report success later.
Thank you so much Donny.

Donny,

Nice information. Too many new people think that their is a quick magic bullet in this industry. It take hard work and dedication just like any business. You have to treat this like a business. Provide quality content/products to your customers, network(build links) and study your results and test test test.

Thanks again.

Definitely, this post seemed very helpful. All this time, I had been wasting so much time on things that help nothing on my blog at all. I did not realize that all the things I need are just the things I overlooked. I underestimated blog commenting also and considered more on social bookmarking, forum posting and other stuffs that makes nothing to the PR.

This is an eye opener for me. Thanks!

Hey Donny,
While article marketing and blog commenting are quite good for getting a few backlinks, don’t you feel they might probably not be enough to ramp up the PR from 0 to 2 ? Isn’t it better to include social bookmarking as well.
